If I can stop one Heart from breaking

 ( Emily Dickinson (1830~1886) born in Massachusetts,USA )

If I can stop one Heart from breaking
( By Emily Dickinson )

If I can stop one Heart from breaking
I shall not live in Vain
If I can ease one Life the Aching
Or cool one Pain
Or help one fainting Robin
Unto his Nest again
I shall not live in Vain.

Emily Dickinson is one of my favorite poet.
Her poetry penetrates into the depths of the human soul and mind.
The poemIf I can stop one Heart from breakingmoves me profoundly as it reveals her value system --- service to other as a central purpose in living.

I’m sure this poem would inspire you.
